Jenn and Austin first crossed paths in the fall of 2018 at Baylor University during the first Vietnamese Student Association's cultural dance practice where a funny coincidence brought them together: Austin was the tallest guy, and Jenn was the tallest girl, so naturally they were paired as dance partners.
Between six weeks of dance practices, an Autumn Moon Festival performance, and plenty of study sessions and lunch dates, their friendship quickly grew into something more. On November 2, 2018, under the glow of Baylor’s Homecoming bonfire, they made it official, beginning what has now become an eight-year love story (and counting).
Since then, they’ve shared so many milestones side by side: adopting Koda in 2022, celebrating each other’s graduations, moving to Dallas and then back to Houston, cheering on Jenn’s career changes, and Austin’s acceptance into medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. Along the way, they’ve traveled the world together, created countless unforgettable memories, and even eloped on April 2nd, 2022 at Cameron Park in Waco, TX.

Began

On April 2, 2025, exactly three years after they eloped, Austin and Jenn found themselves in Thailand, celebrating their anniversary during Austin’s spring break from his first year of medical school. What Jenn did not know was that Austin had been quietly planning something far bigger for months.
To keep the surprise intact, he made a bold request. Jenn would plan the Bangkok portion of their trip, while he would plan Phuket. Anyone who knows Jenn knows this was no small feat. Paying homage to one of Jenn's favorite activities, Austin hired a planner to coordinate the surprise.
Finally, on a secluded strip of Bang Tao Beach in Phuket, Austin led Jenn through the sand with her eyes closed to the proposal area. As the sun dipped toward the horizon, he got down on one knee. The words may have blurred together, but Jenn remembers the feeling perfectly. Happy tears, excited nodding, and an immediate emotional yes.
From a college dance partnership to a beach in Thailand, their love story had come full circle, and this time it came with a ring.
